Brand-new celebration of art, creativity and community to raise cash for hospice
Ashgate Hospice will host the inaugural HeART of Ashgate from August 7 to 9, transforming its hospice and gardens into an exhibition featuring donated and newly created art from regional artists. Sponsored by Chesterfield law firm Graysons Solicitors, the event will sell paintings, prints, photography, ceramics and mixed-media works to raise funds for the hospice’s specialist care for patients and families. The sponsorship continues Graysons’ longstanding partnership with Ashgate Hospice and support for regional arts events.

Josana's dream finally comes to life with Boteco Brasil
Josana Pereira is preparing to open Boteco Brasil, a café, bar and grill in Sheffield's Orchard Square, in late September. After arriving in Britain 12 years ago and beginning as a kitchen porter, Pereira built a hospitality career at venues including Cubana and Grappa before pursuing her long-held ambition. The 50-seat venue will offer Brazilian breakfasts, lunches, evening meals, coffee, grilled dishes, cocktails, live music and cultural events, aiming to bring Brazilian food and traditions to Sheffield while supporting the city's growing Brazilian community.

Sheffield's legendary Limit nightclub celebrated with £146,500 boost
A heritage project celebrating Sheffield’s influential Limit nightclub has received £146,500 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The two‑and‑a‑half‑year initiative led by Synth City will document the venue’s cultural legacy through oral histories, a digital archive, a touring exhibition, podcasts, a book, workshops and a commemorative plaque. The project, supported by Sheffield Archives, Sheffield Hallam University and musicians associated with the club, will culminate in a major public celebration for its 50th anniversary in 2028.
