Trains from Scotland to London continue running with no toilet for five hour trip
Lumo continued operating five-and-a-half-hour services between London Euston and Stirling despite all onboard toilets being out of service because of a fault. Passengers were given longer stops at stations such as Preston to use platform facilities, while one affected service was delayed by 58 minutes and terminated at Motherwell. Lumo said it was working with train refurbisher Alstom to resolve the reliability problems. The report notes that British train operators are not legally required to provide onboard toilets and that Lumo operates without taxpayer-funded subsidies.

Cows cause rail chaos as West Coast Main Line blocked for several hours
A herd of cows blocked the West Coast Main Line in Staffordshire for over four hours, causing major delays and cancellations on services between London and Scotland. Avanti West Coast, Lumo, London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway were among those affected, with passengers reporting long waits and limited assistance. Network Rail teams and local farmers cleared the animals around 1pm, allowing services to resume, though disruptions were expected to continue into the afternoon.
