A fresh investigation into an unidentified man found dead in Coronation Wood near Lichfield in April 1987 has produced a promising lead. Locate International and Staffordshire Police are examining whether he may have attended the former Friary School swimming pool, based on a public tip and a numbered key fob found among his belongings. The man was believed to be in his mid-50s, spoke English with a possible Eastern European or Russian accent, and carried items including Ladbrokes pens, keys, coins, a comb and a lighter. Investigators are asking former pool users, betting-shop customers and anyone with relevant photographs or memories to come forward.
