Keep calm and carry on: two travellers weigh in on Jetstar’s new overhead locker baggage fees
Nick Miller argues that Jetstar’s new fees of up to $52 for overhead-locker carry-on baggage could discourage passengers from bringing oversized bags and occupying excessive locker space. Warren Murray counters that the policy is primarily a new price-gouging scheme, warning that forcing passengers to use smaller under-seat bags may create new delays and discomfort. Both writers question whether the changes will genuinely improve boarding efficiency.

Yankees and Red Sox in run-fest but London may need more convincing
The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox 17–13 at London Stadium in MLB's first competitive game in the UK. The unusually high-scoring, four-hour-42-minute contest provided an entertaining showcase, featuring home runs from Aaron Hicks and Aaron Judge, but raised questions about whether baseball can build a lasting British audience. Attendance was healthy yet included visible empty seats, and the largely American character of the crowd and event seemed at odds with MLB's ambitions for genuine global expansion.
