Major update on survivors of M9 head-on crash after five teens ‘in balaclavas’ killed
Five teenagers aged 15 to 18 died in a head-on collision on the M9 in County Kildare, Ireland, after a BMW reportedly travelled the wrong way at high speed. The four occupants of a Hyundai, members of one family travelling to Dublin Airport for a wedding in England, remain seriously or critically injured. Police now believe the BMW was legitimately purchased for €1,100 rather than stolen, while Fiosrú examines Garda contact with the vehicle before the crash. The incident has prompted debate over police pursuit training, road safety enforcement and dangerous driving videos shared on social media.
