Author Peter Hainsworth Was Shocked by How Bradford Changed
Peter Hainsworth describes returning to Bradford and Thornbury after more than six decades and being struck by the transformation of their shops, transport, industry, buildings and demographics. Although he feels the loss of the working-class world of his childhood, he also admires the cleaner streets, green spaces, restored stonework and enduring layout of the city. His memories of family life, school, games and wartime loss have inspired his memoir, Framing Myself: A 1940s and 50s Bradford Boyhood, published by Troubador Publishing.
