Brits ‘paying the price’ for putting off household improvements, survey suggests
A OnePoll survey of 2,000 UK adults found that six in ten have postponed improvements to their homes, careers or personal lives because they viewed them as too effortful or disruptive. Decluttering, redecorating, repairs, fitness routines and career changes were among the commonly delayed actions, while many respondents later regretted waiting. The survey also found that 45% regretted not managing their home energy use better, with many believing they may have overpaid or wasted energy. Smart Energy GB, supported by Anna Richardson, used the findings to encourage households to install smart meters and break large tasks into smaller steps.

Parents struggle to keep kids entertained by day 10 of summer holidays
A poll of 1,000 parents found that 63% struggle to keep children engaged during the summer holidays, with work commitments, differing interests among siblings and a lack of ideas among the main obstacles. Although 89% consider outdoor play important, 46% of children spend an hour or less outside each day. Parents say children are more motivated by outdoor activities when they are framed as missions, challenges or adventures, especially when friends or existing interests are involved. GoGo squeeZ and JB Gill promote game-inspired outdoor activities, including scavenger hunts, timed challenges and imaginative games.
