Brits urged to check eggs for one symbol after salmonella outbreak
A salmonella outbreak linked possibly to eggs imported from outside the UK has caused 207 confirmed cases and one death, with 38% of those affected requiring hospital treatment. UK households are advised to check eggs for the Red Lion symbol and an eight-digit traceability code, while following hygiene practices, cooking food thoroughly and avoiding food preparation for others when symptomatic.
