UK weather alert as 390-mile 'wall of rain' to drench most of England in days
A 390‑mile band of rain is forecast to sweep across England on July 26, ending a prolonged heatwave and bringing heavy downpours from Cumbria to Cornwall. WXCharts data suggests most of the country will see rainfall, with only small areas in the east remaining dry. The South West could receive up to 7.5mm of rain per hour, with parts of Wales and northern England also affected. The Met Office long‑range outlook warns of unsettled, occasionally thundery weather through early August, though some warm and dry spells remain likely. Northern Scotland is experiencing earlier rainfall, with potential thunderstorms developing in southern areas from Monday.
