I sold ugly trainers for twice what I paid for them - now I make £55k a month
Madi Donohoe left a care-worker job paying £9 an hour after six months because chronic pain, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue made the rigid schedule difficult. She began reselling after doubling her money on a pair of Nike trainers bought for £25, then expanded into accessories, outlet clothing and Stone Island items. After joining the live-auction platform Tilt, her profits grew from £800 in the first month to £5,400 in the second; she reports making £356,000 in her first year and £513,000 between November 2025 and June 2026, averaging about £55,000 a month. She now runs two weekly livestreams, sends roughly 200 parcels a week and employs someone to manage packaging.
