Madi Donohoe, a 22-year-old former care worker from Frinton, Essex, left her £9-an-hour job after struggling with chronic pain and fibromyalgia. She began reselling trainers, clothing and accessories through Vinted, later expanding to live auctions on Tilt. After reporting £800 in profit during her first month and £5,400 in her second, she says she made £356,000 in her first year and averaged about £55,000 per month from November 2025 to June 2026. Her operation now includes two weekly livestreams, around 200 parcels a week and a paid packing assistant.

A Leicester woman secured the conviction of her stepfather eight years after police initially dropped her case without examining key electronic evidence. Justin Smith was sentenced in 2025 to six years in prison for multiple sexual offences committed against Flynnley Paton between ages eight and fourteen. The case was reopened after Smith’s 2022 arrest for possessing indecent images, leading to the discovery of email evidence. Paton criticises the leniency of the sentence and the police’s investigative failures, and is pursuing a civil case while campaigning for tougher penalties for child abusers. Leicestershire Police acknowledged errors in the 2017 investigation and issued an apology.
