The cemetery secret linking Arsenal and Coventry City
Arsenal founder David Danskin and Coventry City founder Willie Stanley are both buried in Coventry's London Road Cemetery, creating a little-known historical link between the clubs. Both men lay in unmarked graves for decades before supporters and historians worked to secure permanent memorials. Arsenal funded a headstone for Danskin in 2019 after campaigns involving Coventry supporters, Burntisland Heritage Trust and the Arsenal Scotland Supporters' Club. Historians and relatives hope the shared heritage will bring the two fanbases closer together.
