Cleare Perspectives by John Cleare review: ‘An insider’s eye view’
Roger Cox praises John Cleare’s 600-page book as an impressive combination of photography collection, autobiography and beautifully designed physical object. The review highlights Cleare’s mastery of composition, his mountaineering and adventure photography from Everest and Pakistan to Scottish sea stacks, and stories involving the BBC, Clint Eastwood, Chris Bonington, Tom Patey and Ranulph Fiennes. Despite its £45 price, the book is judged excellent value and a compelling insider’s account of adventure photography.
