A woman was rescued from a property on Wherstead Road in Ipswich shortly before midday on Thursday. Fire crews reportedly craned her out of a window while multiple fire engines and an ambulance attended, and the road was closed. A young person who drifted offshore in a canoe near Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club was located and safely returned to shore by Felixstowe Lifeboat crews, who reunited them with family. The rescue was one of three emergencies handled by the volunteer crew on Sunday, alongside a report of a person in the water at Neptune Marina in Ipswich and a vessel aground on the River Orwell. The lifeboat crew had received nine callouts in July at the time of the incidents.
