JD Wetherspoon plans to open 12 new pubs, including venues at Barcelona and Heathrow airports, Manchester Airport, several UK towns and cities, and London and Edinburgh. The company already operates more than 800 UK pubs and has recently expanded overseas. Wetherspoon has also banned Meta Glasses and other smart glasses from its UK pubs over concerns that customers could record people without their permission. Meta argues that the glasses’ recording indicator, accessibility features, and hands-free functions make them valuable, while accepting that some locations should not be filmed.
