JD Wetherspoon Introduces Meta Glasses Ban at All 800 Pubs
JD Wetherspoon has banned Meta Glasses and all other smart glasses from its more than 800 UK pubs. The company says the devices enable surreptitious recording of customers and staff, conflicting with pub rules against filming people without permission. Meta argues that the glasses’ recording indicator, accessibility features and practical functions make blanket restrictions inappropriate, while agreeing that some locations should not be filmed.
