Solar eclipse postcode checker shows best time to watch once-in-a-generation event
North Wales is expected to experience 92% to 94% solar obscuration during the UK’s major solar eclipse, with the peak occurring at around 7pm and varying by postcode. Western locations such as Aberdaron and Pembrokeshire will see some of the highest coverage. The eclipse will be the strongest visible from the UK for 54 years, although cloud could affect Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northern England. Experts warn that ordinary sunglasses are unsafe and recommend certified eclipse glasses, a solar telescope or indirect projection methods such as a colander.
