When the Solar Eclipse Will Be Visible in Cambridgeshire
A solar eclipse on Wednesday will obscure more than 90% of the Sun across the UK, peaking at around 7pm and offering Cambridgeshire residents one of the country’s best viewing opportunities for decades. The greatest coverage will occur in Devon and Cornwall, while eastern areas including Cambridgeshire will see slightly less than the UK maximum. Clear skies are forecast across much of England and Wales, although cloud may affect Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northern England. Astronomers warn that ordinary sunglasses are unsafe and recommend certified eclipse glasses, a solar telescope, or indirect projection methods such as using a colander.
