Andoni Iraola’s Gruelling Pre-Season Has Left Liverpool Players Lying on the Floor
Liverpool’s players are undergoing demanding pre-season sessions under new manager Andoni Iraola, whose high-intensity pressing and one-on-one defensive methods leave players exhausted. Kerkez also expects Iraola’s emphasis on defensive discipline, fitness and equal treatment to shape a new generation at Anfield.

Jeremy Jacquet completes £60m Liverpool transfer from Rennes after injury recovery
Liverpool completed the £60m signing of defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes after he recovered from shoulder surgery that delayed the January agreement. The club will pay £55m upfront plus £5m in add-ons, making him their second most expensive defender after Virgil van Dijk. Jacquet, now fully fit, has signed a five-year contract with an option for a sixth and will join the squad for pre-season. He will compete for a central defensive role alongside Gomez, Leoni and Van Dijk. Liverpool fought off significant interest, including from Chelsea. Jacquet’s arrival coincides with Ibrahima Konate’s free transfer to Real Madrid. The club is awaiting further updates on Giovanni Leoni’s recovery from an ACL injury.
