Freed prisoner tracked down estranged wife and launched horror street attack over dead koi carp
A man recently released from prison tracked down his estranged wife using stolen Royal Mail redirection details and attempted to kill her by ramming her with his car and beating her with a baseball bat. Passersby intervened, preventing her death. The woman suffered severe injuries, and the attack breached an existing restraining order. A judge condemned the defendant’s lack of remorse and intent to kill, sentencing him to 24 years in prison plus a four‑year extended licence due to the danger he poses. The victim credited bystanders, police, support services and NHS staff for saving her life and urged others facing abuse to seek help.
