Thomas Crombie was photographed lying on a bed covered in cash earned from selling Class A drugs, an image taken by his girlfriend Marley Hadfield and shown at their sentencing hearing. Hadfield temporarily ran the operation after Crombie was injured. Police recovered £10,000 worth of drugs and £10,000 in cash during a raid in Hull. Both admitted drug supply offences, with Crombie also acknowledging possession of criminal property and cannabis. Judge John Thackray sentenced Crombie to 27 months in prison and gave Hadfield a two-year suspended sentence with unpaid work and rehabilitation days.

A man who tracked down his estranged wife using stolen mail‑redirection details and attacked her by ramming her with his car and beating her with a baseball bat was sentenced to 24 years in prison, with an additional four years on licence due to the danger he poses. The attack, driven partly by anger over the death of his koi carp, was stopped by passersby who restrained him, preventing what the judge said would likely have been a fatal outcome. The victim suffered severe injuries and remains traumatised, while support from police, domestic‑abuse services and the NHS aided her recovery. The court cited Worville’s lack of remorse, history of violence and breach of a restraining order in imposing the lengthy sentence.
