South London man remains missing after devastating Nepal flash floods
Nabhi Das of Streatham is among 33 British nationals reported missing after catastrophic flash floods near the Nepal-Tibet border. The disaster in Nepal’s Rasuwa region followed a glacial collapse and debris flow, killing at least 389 people and leaving more than 900 missing. Several British pilgrims and tour groups remain unaccounted for, while families struggle to make contact because electricity, communications and bridges have been destroyed. The UK has pledged £5 million in assistance, issued travel-safety advice and engaged Nepalese authorities, while the United Nations has released $2 million for emergency relief.
