Former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw completed his first triathlon at the London T100 Triathlon in 3:14:59, comfortably beating his goal of finishing under four hours. He competed alongside Strictly Come Dancing professional Julian Caillon and Caillon’s fiancée Sofia Ochoa to raise money and awareness for the Kerslake-Robshaw Foundation, which supports young people facing barriers through sport and music. The event included thousands of amateur competitors and took place alongside the World Triathlon Championship Series races, won by Matthew Hauser and Cassandre Beaugrand.

Alex Yee finished 14th at the World Triathlon Championship Series event in London after a difficult swim and a bike crash before the transition to the run. He recovered to record the fastest run of the field in 13:52, encouraged by the home crowd. Matthew Hauser won ahead of Vasco Vilaça and Csongor Lehmann, while Max Stapley was the leading British finisher in 12th. Yee said completing the race was an important step after a difficult period and identified improving his swim as a priority ahead of his goal of qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Reigning world triathlon champion Matthew Hauser has welcomed the creation of a unified Triathlon World Tour, describing the merger of World Triathlon’s WTCS and the PTO’s T100 series as the sport’s biggest advance in decades. From 2027, the WTCS will become the T50 World Championship Tour, alongside the T100 tour and a new Challenger tier designed to provide a clearer route for athletes. World Triathlon president Antonio Arimany and PTO chief executive Sam Renouf said the structure should simplify the sport, attract more fans and create opportunities for athletes, host cities and commercial partners. Hauser is preparing to compete at the WTCS London event, where Alex Yee, Beth Potter and other leading triathletes will also race.
