Huddersfield Giants v Catalans Dragons: Jim Lenihan urges Giants to keep their foot on the gas
Huddersfield Giants have responded to a nine-game losing start under head coach Jim Lenihan with consecutive wins over York Knights and Hull FC. Although Hull FC's victory over St Helens preserved a four-point gap above Huddersfield at the bottom of Super League, the Giants remain optimistic with six matches left. Lenihan says the team has improved physically, mentally and tactically while adapting its attacking and defensive systems, but insists they must avoid complacency and continue pursuing further progress. Adam Clune and Sam Halsall could return against Catalans Dragons.

Castleford Tigers v Hull Kingston Rovers: Willie Peters ready for anything as rivals adopt back-up plan
Castleford Tigers will face Hull Kingston Rovers without head coach Ryan Carr, who the club says is absent for personal reasons despite online reports that he had been stood down pending an investigation. Chris Chester, Scott Murrell and Rob Nickolay will lead Castleford, supported by club legend Adrian Vowles. Hull KR arrive as reigning Super League champions after wins over Hull FC and Bradford Bulls, with coach Willie Peters stressing the need for a full-game performance while warning that Castleford remain unpredictable and dangerous at home.

St Helens v Hull FC: Airlie Birds looking for positive ending to avoid rock-bottom status
Hull FC travel to seventh-placed St Helens with six rounds of the 2026 Super League season remaining. Despite losing seven straight games and sitting only two points above Huddersfield Giants, interim coach Andy Last says the threat of finishing bottom should motivate the team to produce a stronger finish before Steve McNamara takes over in October. Hull will be without injured centre Davy Litten, while Arthur Romano may return after more than 10 weeks out.
