Nine-storey Plymouth tower block plan splits local opinion
Revised plans have been submitted for 108 flats in a nine-storey tower on the former Plymouth Register Office site on Lockyer Street, with retail space and undercroft parking. An earlier proposal for 56 homes was rejected over design, inadequate sunlight, lack of affordable housing and failure to meet identified demand for smaller flats. Plymouth Live readers are divided: some support new housing and regeneration, while others object to the building's height, potential wind effects, impact on views and the city's perceived need for entertainment and other facilities rather than more flats.
