Criminal records of four VW occupants killed in A66 horror crash revealed
Four of the five men who died when a Volkswagen Passat collided with a police vehicle on the A66 had previous convictions, Cleveland Police confirmed. Cole Worthy, Makai Saddington, Theo Rae and Jakub Matusiak had admitted offences including assaults on police officers, theft, drug and weapons possession, and driving violations; Michael Robert Cahill had no previous convictions. The crash also killed police officers Matthew Blades and Tom Clough. The vehicle had been travelling against traffic while being pursued, although the pursuit was aborted before the collision, according to the Independent Office of Police Conduct. Twelve people were arrested in the wider investigation, including on suspicion of firearm and organised-crime offences.
