Wales legend Mark Hughes' son Alex was 'such a good guy. Life can be cruel'
An inquest found that Alex Hughes, the 38-year-old son of former Wales footballer and manager Mark Hughes, died from sudden adult death syndrome after collapsing at his home in Macclesfield on June 19. Hughes, who worked as Grimsby Town’s player recruitment lead and had held roles with several other clubs, was remembered by his family, colleagues and football figures as a humble and respected professional. His father described the death as totally heartbreaking, while Grimsby manager Dave Artell said Hughes had been a good person whose loss showed how cruel life can be.

New witnesses accuse their own relative of murdering Lin and Megan Russell
Two witnesses have identified Raymond Buck, a relative who died in 2000, as the possible killer of Lin Russell and her six-year-old daughter Megan in Kent in 1996. Their statements have been submitted to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, which is reviewing the evidence and conducting new DNA analysis that may include samples from Buck’s family and Michael Stone, who has spent 29 years in prison after being convicted of the murders and the attempted murder of Lin’s surviving daughter Josie. Stone’s solicitor Karen Todner said a DNA result implicating someone other than Stone could lead to a referral to the Court of Appeal.
