Pamela Gwinnett was sentenced at Preston Crown Court after exploiting vulnerable pensioner Joan Green and stealing nearly £300,000 while isolating her from her family. Gwinnett fled to Tenerife after breaching bail and was given an additional two-month sentence on top of a six-year term for theft and fraud by abuse of position. The court rejected her explanation for the escape and criticised her lack of remorse. Green's family was ordered to be reimbursed £350,180, with property reportedly confiscated to recover the money.
