Loving mum was 'on the brink of a new life' when she was knocked down and killed
Jake Bolton was jailed for 46 months after pleading guilty to causing the death of Himabindu Yadla by careless driving, driving with cannabis above the legal limit, driving without valid insurance and possessing cannabis. Bolton was sleep deprived, had more than twice the legal cannabis limit in his blood and was speaking on a hands-free phone when his Audi struck Yadla in Bamber Bridge on 24 October 2024. Yadla died after 18 days on life support. The court heard that she had been building a new life in the UK and hoped to bring her eight-year-old daughter from India to live with her. Bolton was also banned from driving for 72 months.
