UK heatwave 2026: Full list of 27 counties forecast to sizzle as temperatures could hit 36C
A fifth UK heatwave of 2026 is forecast, with temperatures potentially reaching 36°C in parts of East Anglia and south-east England around August 13. Twenty-seven English counties are expected to exceed 30°C, while Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England and western Wales will generally be cooler. The UK Health Security Agency has issued yellow heat health alerts across seven English regions from Saturday through Tuesday, and the Met Office expects heat to build through the following week before southern areas become cooler and fresher.
