Bolton-based pizzeria Killa Carbs won the UK Pizza Championships at London’s Slice-o-mania festival with its Krispy Kiev pizza, made with garlic butter, crispy chicken, crispy onions, parsley and pecorino. Founder Lara King started the business from her garden during the pandemic and expanded it through festivals, weddings and regional venues, while maintaining links to Bolton. The award has led to new opportunities, including a placement at Blackburn Rovers Football Club, and King plans to compete against Europe’s top pizza chefs in London in November.
