An outline planning application submitted by Savills for Bellway Homes seeks permission for up to 150 homes on land north of Straight Road in Boxted. The proposal includes new access, drainage infrastructure, public open space, landscaping and associated works, with only access details submitted for approval at this stage. Bellway describes the scheme as a sensitive extension to Boxted Cross and says it has consulted local authorities, the parish council, the area MP, schools and residents. Its consultation included a newsletter sent to 404 nearby addresses, a public drop-in event attended by 81 people and 66 pieces of feedback.
