Shayne Hambakachere trial: Mum of murder accused gives evidence
The mother of a 16-year-old boy on trial for murdering Shayne Hambakachere told Bristol Crown Court that her son disclosed where he had hidden the knife used in the fatal stabbing. The knife was later found in a derelict care home. She also described her son's alleged involvement in drug dealing, changing friendship group, school troubles, fears of threats from other young people and contact with the youth-exploitation charity Escapeline. The court heard that witnesses and paramedics found Shayne awake, panicked and struggling to breathe at the scene.

'Violent' Bristol gang detained for motorbike thefts and kidnap
Four members of a Bristol gang were sentenced to between three and ten years for a series of violent motorcycle thefts and the kidnapping and assault of a 15‑year‑old. Police described the crimes as increasingly brazen, high-value and carried out in public, with offenders filming attacks and showing little remorse. Victims reported significant financial loss and emotional distress, and police ultimately traced the gang following an attack on a security guard, leading to their arrest.
