Home Office figures for the year ending March 2026 show that Nuneaton and Bedworth recorded a sexual-offence rate of 4.1 per 1,000 people, higher than Coventry’s 3.9. Coventry had more offences overall—1,428 compared with 580—because of its larger population, but ranked lower nationally by rate. Nuneaton and Bedworth had the highest sexual-offence rate in Warwickshire, while reports increased in most surrounding areas except Rugby.

Home Office figures show that West Midlands Police recorded 1,428 sexual offences in Coventry, including 553 rapes, in the year ending March 2026. Sexual offences rose 5% year on year, with a charge rate of 5.3%, above the national average of 4.7%. Coventry ranked 66th among local authority areas for sexual-offence rates, while its overall crime rate fell 7% to 88.4 offences per 1,000 people, placing it 75th for overall crime.
