A proposed expansion of Keane's Coaches’ depot near Eryrys has been recommended for approval despite objections from residents and the local community council over noise, traffic, and environmental concerns. The plan seeks permission for up to 10 vehicles and 24‑hour access to support rail replacement services. A noise assessment indicates no unacceptable impact on neighbouring properties, leading officers to advise against restricting operating hours. The proposal will be considered by Denbighshire County Council’s planning committee on 9 July.

Councillors in Conwy approved a major repair scheme for the Grade II listed Pont Pengwern bridge after structural deterioration caused by a collapsed wing wall. Temporary sandbags installed in 2025 kept the road open, and the planned works include structural grouting, masonry rebuilding, parapet reconstruction and scour protection. The consent will now be considered by CADW, with the Welsh Government able to call in the application before final approval is issued.
