Eve Muirhead: Winter Olympic gold medal-winning curler revokes retirement
Eve Muirhead has reversed her retirement from curling after serving as Team GB’s chef de mission at the Milan-Cortina Games rekindled her competitive motivation. The 36-year-old will reunite with Bobby Lammie in mixed doubles, aiming ultimately for the 2030 Winter Olympics, while former team-mate Vicky Drummond is also returning alongside Euan Kyle. Drummond says motherhood has strengthened her desire to compete and inspire her daughter. Commonwealth Games 2026: Para-cyclist Neil Fachie wins sixth Scotland gold
Neil Fachie won his sixth Commonwealth Games gold medal for Scotland in the para-cycling tandem B 1,000m at Glasgow's Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. The 42-year-old, who had largely retired after the Paris Paralympics and now works full-time for Amazon, partnered with English pilot Aaron Pope and prevailed after Australia and favorites Wales failed to match Scotland's time. Scotland also won a bronze medal in the women's team sprint through Lauren Bell, Iona Moir and Maddy Silcock. Fachie plans to race the tandem sprint on Saturday and expects it to be the final event of his career.

Commonwealth Games 2026: Robyn Love and Scotland claim wheelchair 3x3 basketball silver
Scotland's women's wheelchair 3x3 basketball team, led by Robyn Love, won a Commonwealth Games silver medal after losing 18-10 to England in the final in Glasgow. Woods and Kottas have expressed distress, while Team England has strongly challenged the decision; both Woods and Scotland teammate Joanna Robertson will compete in Friday’s rerun, shortly before Woods is due to race in the 400m heats.
