Staffordshire Police Chief Constable Chris Noble resigned on September 28, on the eve of a two-day hearing into allegations of gross misconduct. Noble had been suspended from the force since August 2025 after joining in December 2021. The hearing panel chairman disclosed details of the resignation, but reporting restrictions prevent further publication for now; Staffordshire Police has declined to comment.

A Farmfoods shopper complained after witnessing another customer buy around 90 boxes of chicken nuggets during a 10‑for‑£10 promotion at the Longton store in Staffordshire, alleging the items were intended for resale. Farmfoods apologised, stating it is a retail rather than wholesale business and aims to maintain stock levels for all customers, and has passed the complaint to the area manager.
