Tinder conwoman 'mercilessly' fleeced 'trusting soul' out of more than £10,000
Amie Ford, 30, was sentenced to 26 months in prison after pleading guilty to fraud by false representation. She met the victim on Tinder and, over roughly 11 months, used fabricated emergencies, bounced cheques and forged messages purporting to come from solicitors, banks, police and a relative to obtain between £10,000 and £12,000, personal information and access to further liabilities. The victim suffered substantial debt and lasting trauma. The sentencing judge said Ford had deliberately exploited a trusting man and described her conduct as calculated, cynical and heartless.
