Danielle Bryce, a mother of seven from Doncaster, spent about £17,000 on facial fillers and £5,000 on breast enlargement after years of insecurity, body dysmorphia, anxiety and seeking validation through her appearance. Following her daughter’s autism diagnosis, Bryce was diagnosed with autism in January 2025 and later with ADHD. She says the diagnoses helped her understand that her cosmetic changes, heavy makeup and extensions had been forms of masking. She dissolved her fillers, adopted a more natural appearance, stopped anxiety medication and began weekly therapy. Bryce now encourages others to seek diagnoses and advocate for themselves, arguing that understanding one’s mind can reduce self-blame and save lives.

Mattel has unveiled a Barbie Signature Series doll honouring Whitney Houston. Styled after Houston's appearance in the “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” music video, the doll features an ’80s fringe, long curly hair, a pink bodycon midi dress, colourful earrings and white-and-blue heels. It was revealed at the annual Whitney Houston Legacy of Love gala, which supports the singer's foundation for young people. Houston joins other music stars commemorated in the series, including David Bowie, Diana Ross, Miley Cyrus and Elton John.
