Five who died in Co Kildare head-on crash were all teenage males in BMW driving on wrong side of motorway
Five teenage males died after a BMW travelled southbound on the northbound M9 near Moone, County Kildare, and collided head-on with a Hyundai shortly after 3am. The Hyundai’s four occupants—a family consisting of three women and a seven-year-old child—were hospitalized with critical or serious injuries. Gardaí said the BMW had earlier failed to stop for officers, prompting an independent Fiosrú investigation into the prior contact. Authorities are investigating the crash, appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage, while officials condemned wrong-way driving and warned of its devastating impact on innocent road users.
