Mortlake and Richmond Stations Celebrate 180 Years
Mortlake and Richmond railway stations celebrated 180 years of service with community events attended by local organizations, councillors, commuters and railway representatives. Festivities included train-themed performances, historic photograph displays and speeches, while pupils from Thomson House School unveiled a mural at Mortlake station. Daniel Opoku, a station ticket office team leader, was recognized for his service to the community, and further celebrations took place at Richmond station. Both stations officially opened in July 1846.
