Llanelli rugby jersey from ‘incredible’ 1972 win over All Blacks to be auctioned
A Llanelli RFC jersey worn by Tommy David during the club’s 1972 victory over the New Zealand All Blacks is being auctioned, with expectations it could reach £15,000. The match, remembered locally as a moment of major celebration, holds strong cultural significance and inspired works by Max Boyce. Auctioneer Ben Rogers highlighted the rarity of such memorabilia, noting it is the first jersey from the match to appear for sale. The article recounts David’s rugby achievements, including later success with the Barbarians and the British Lions.

Inquest into death of mother-of-five after BBL procedure by Dudley's 'Lip King' likely later this year
An inquest into the September 2024 death of Alice Webb, who became the first person in the UK to die after a liquid Brazilian butt lift, is expected to take place before a jury in autumn 2026. Webb became ill after the procedure at a Gloucester salon and later died in hospital. The practitioner, Jordan James Parke, died in February, ending the related criminal investigation because no charges can now be brought. The inquest is expected to hear evidence from police, a pathologist, the salon operator and others present during the procedure. Webb’s family and campaigners are urging the Government to ban high-risk cosmetic procedures, while proposed regulations would restrict BBLs to specified health workers.

Bass guitar used on The Specials’ Ghost Town could fetch £20,000 at auction
A 1971 blue Fender Precision bass played by Horace Panter on The Specials’ 1981 hit “Ghost Town” will be auctioned by Gardiner Houlgate on March 10, with an estimated price of up to £20,000. Panter bought the instrument for £200 in 1981 and hopes it goes to someone who will play it. The song, which topped the UK chart for three weeks and reflected the period’s social and political unrest, helped establish the bass’s musical and cultural significance.
