I am an independent journalist, writer, and translator based in Kathmandu, Nepal. My reporting and long-form writing cover South Asian geopolitics, Nepal's foreign affairs, particularly its relations with India and China, along with political economy, history, and social and cultural issues across the region. My bylines have appeared in The Caravan, Kantipur Daily, Himal Khabar, Annapurna Post, Nagarik Daily, Shilapatra, Ratopati, Global Politics, the Center for Investigative Journalism Nepal, and 101reporters. For The Caravan, he reported on how India's currency policy rippled into Nepal's economy; elsewhere, he has written on the Kalapani-Lipulekh border dispute and other points of friction in Nepal-India relations. He also writes literary essays and criticism in Nepali. Before going freelance, I worked as a writer and correspondent at Setopati, a reporter at Naya Patrika, a senior sub-editor at Galaxy Television, and a program producer and presenter at Radio Sagarmatha, South Asia's first independent community radio station. I am the editor and translator of Ekkaisau Shatabdima Nigarani ra Swatantrata (Surveillance and Freedom in the 21st Century), published by Indigo Ink in 2024, a Nepali-language collection of essays by international thinkers on power, technology, and surveillance in the current century. I have completed a master's in South Asian Studies from Pondicherry University, where I studied as a South Asia Foundation Fellow (2019-2021), and a master's in English Language, Literature, and Philosophy from IACER, Pokhara University. I am a Global South Solidarity Fellow at Washington State University (2025-2026).
