Duncan Scott won Scotland’s first gold medal of the 2026 Commonwealth Games by taking the men’s 200m individual medley in a Games-record time of 1:56.28. He described the victory as a relief after helping generate momentum for the Scottish team. New Zealand’s Lewis Clareburt took silver and England’s Tom Dean bronze. Scotland also won gold through Faye Rogers, while Stephen Clegg and Katie Shanahan claimed silver; England took silver in both relay finals as Australia won them.
