Released Ipswich Town academy players Usisya Longwe and Jackson Nsofor have joined seventh-tier club Bishop's Stortford. Both were regulars for Ipswich's Under-18 side, while Nsofor also featured in the club's 2025/26 FA Youth Cup run and had several work-experience loans. Longwe previously spent a short loan spell with Felixstowe & Walton.

Ipswich Town U21s began their 2026/27 Premier League Cup campaign with a 4-2 defeat by Coventry City in Colchester. Ali Al-Hamadi equalised after Oscar Jorgensen's opener, but two penalties from Kah'vanni Lincoln and a late goal from MacKenzie Stretton secured Coventry's victory, despite Jamie Mauge pulling one back for Ipswich. Jacob Mazionis returned from injury, while goalkeeper George Barrett was stretchered off. Ipswich will next visit Braintree Town in the National League Cup, and the club's U18s also lost 5-2 to Fulham.

Former Ipswich Town loanee Kalvin Phillips has rejoined Sheffield United from Manchester City on a season-long loan. His previous spell at Sheffield United was limited to three appearances because of a knee injury and a red card in the Steel City derby. Phillips made 22 appearances for Ipswich during the 2024/25 season but was also affected by injuries, and he now hopes to return to full fitness and make a stronger contribution at Bramall Lane.

Ipswich Town U21s have had their 2026/27 fixtures confirmed for the EFL Trophy and National League Cup. They will travel to Luton Town, Peterborough United and Colchester United in the EFL Trophy, while their first National League Cup campaign includes away matches at Braintree Town, Hornchurch, Worthing and Aldershot Town. The team will also compete in the Premier League International Cup, with those fixtures still to be announced.

Cameron Humphreys scored twice in Ipswich Town's pre-season win over Wycombe Wanderers after a strong loan spell at the club, but his future at Portman Road remains uncertain. Ipswich Town Women have extended goalkeeper Laura Hartley’s contract for one year. Technical director Sean Burt praised her contribution to the club’s goalkeeping group.

Ipswich Town’s academy completed a pre-season training camp in Slovakia involving 43 players and 19 staff. The under-18 and under-21 players lost 1–0 to Spartak Trnava’s under-19s, then defeated DAC 1904’s B team 3–2 after coming from behind, with Tudor Mendel scoring twice and Kellyan Olawole adding the late winner. Ipswich’s under-17s finished the tour with a 3–0 victory over DAC 1904’s under-17s, as Pedro Felico scored twice and James Brentnall added another goal. The academy sides were scheduled to return to action against Bury Town and Gillingham.

Former Ipswich Town full-back Sito will continue playing in Spain at age 46 after Club Deportivo Berceo renewed his contract for the 2026/27 season. Entering his 27th year in senior football, he made 63 appearances and scored once for Ipswich between 2005 and 2008. Sito now mainly comes off the bench for the Spanish fifth-tier club while also assisting with coaching.

Ipswich Town’s academy side lost 1-0 to Spartak Trnava’s Under-19s in a pre-season match in Slovakia, despite controlling much of the game. Rastislav Flimmel scored the only goal in the 31st minute. Ipswich used 23 players from their U18 and U21 squads, with several regulars away training with the first team. The side will play two more fixtures during their Slovakia tour before returning for further pre-season matches.

Former Ipswich Town forward Martyn Waghorn has extended his stay with Anstey Nomads after helping them win the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands title. The 36-year-old returned to playing a year after retiring and praised manager Conrad Logan and player‑coach David Nugent. Waghorn, who scored 16 goals for Ipswich in the 2017–18 season before moves to Derby County and other clubs, will now join the Nomads as they prepare for their first campaign at Step 3 level.

Former Ipswich Town goalkeeper Scott Loach has joined Eastwood CFC after a stint with Newark Town. The 38‑year‑old, who retired from professional football in 2024 before returning in 2025, brings extensive experience from over 500 career appearances. Eastwood CFC, founded in 2014, finished seventh in the ninth tier last season. Loach previously played for Ipswich Town between 2012 and 2014 following earlier spells with Lincoln City and Watford.
