Ipswich Town academy left-back Darragh McCann has signed his first professional contract with the club. The 18-year-old joined from Glentoran after being scouted while playing for Northern Ireland Under-16s, and has become a regular for the club’s Under-18 side. He missed the second half of last season after surgery for a lateral meniscus tear but is recovering and expected to return to training ahead of the new Premier League 2 season.

Joe Sheehan has left Ipswich Town after nearly a decade to become assistant manager of newly promoted Women's Super League side Charlton Athletic. Sheehan joined Ipswich in 2017, managed the women's team from 2019, secured two promotions and helped oversee the move to a fully professional setup. After stepping down as manager in early 2026 and helping launch the club's Professional Game Academy, he departed with a statement expressing pride in the team's transformation, his players' development and the support of the club and its fans.
