Emmerdale newcomer Casey Al-Shaqsy says filming baby Leyla Sugden’s christening scene left her overwhelmed and feeling sick because she was surrounded by iconic characters she grew up watching. She was particularly starstruck by Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle, and felt nervous working with Emma Atkins, who plays Charity. Al-Shaqsy joined the ITV soap as Serena Sugden, a former police officer with family secrets, and says that even after several months the experience still feels surreal.
