Vile killer who lured schoolgirl to savage murder trap dies in prison
Donna Marie Brand, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2023 for the 1996 murder of 14-year-old Caroline Glachan, has died in custody at Corton Vale prison aged 47. Brand was convicted alongside Robert O'Brien and Andrew Kelly after the court heard that the trio lured Glachan to the River Leven in West Dunbartonshire, assaulted her and left her body in the river. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will examine Brand's death, with Police Scotland and the Procurator Fiscal notified.
