Met Office confirms how third UK heatwave coming next week will compare to June
The Met Office expects another UK heatwave next week but forecasts it will be significantly less intense than the extreme heat at the end of June. Temperatures may reach the low 30s in parts of England, with Birmingham likely to hit 29C, though overnight temperatures should be less oppressive than those recorded during June’s heatwave. The agency also warns that an ongoing marine heatwave could reach extreme Category 4 levels as sea-surface temperatures continue to rise due to recent hot weather. Despite warmer seas, officials caution that cold-water shock remains a risk for swimmers.
