Saudi Arabia, Canada Open New Investment Era in AI, Mining
Saudi Arabia and Canada strengthened economic ties by advancing cooperation in mining, artificial intelligence, data centers, financial services and advanced industries during a visit by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to Jeddah. Leaders and officials emphasized aligning Canadian expertise in technology, mining and education with opportunities emerging from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Mining served as a key area of collaboration, with plans for joint workforce development, geological integration and expanded partnerships. About $1 billion worth of agreements are expected, reinforcing long-term investment prospects and expanding trade relations as both countries pursue integrated value chains for critical minerals and growth across strategic sectors.
